A smooth day out on Lake Mary, on the Sea Eagle boat with my adventure partner Ki..!

So began the story of Ki and me on November 8th 2013, 

when I went to the Alamorgordo, New Mexico animal shelter 

while visiting my son Colin.

It was love at first sight....

 Our visit together in the shelter yard showed me her very alert nature...

 Then at Colin's place she got comfy and was peaceful friends with his Kitty..!

Then came the time to head out on the road west to California...

It was a bit of a high step into the van back then...

But it was home sweet home..!

The bond between us grew quickly...

I was happy to find she loves the outdoors as much as I do..!

We camped for the night and explored Red Rock S.P. in western New Mexico.

Her belly was shaved for the spay surgery.

The vet recommended she not do vigorous exercise for awhile after the surgery... 

Yeah right..!

A trip out to see the Grand Canyon was awesome, 

but maybe a bit intimidating to a little puppy..!

Our next night out was at Lee's Ferry on the Colorado River.

And discovered SAND is FUN..!

 I'm in love with Ki..!

A chilly morning but all I had for her was the little T-shirt, 

which was Colin's from 1 year of age.

But then we went to  PETCO in St. George, UT 

and bought her this sweet fleece coat..!

 Our campsite at the Virgin River Gorge introduced Cholla cactus to her,

which she developed a respect for right away...

As well as the power of a river... 

Which almost swept her away forever just after this photo, 

in a moment of her playfulness and my looking away for a moment...

So it was very emotional for us and bonded our love even more deeply...
